Secret 7

'Secret 7' takes 7 tracks of the best- known musicians around and invite creatives from around a world into competition to interpret the tracks in their own style. The first step to approaching the brief  was to listen all of the tracks and gain a feel of the sound and what is trying to communicate. After listening to all tracks I felt that Max Richter's song really interested also it was because of the lack of lyrics. It is a 10 minutes instrumental which features piano, strings, electronics and violin. The track is repetitive but you never get 'tired' of it, (ironically, because it's supposed to make you sleep). It is really relaxing 'A manifesto for a slower pace of existence'.

My first impression was of having deep slumber which our mind and body being put to rest. You can feel every touch of this music as the song is like listening to gentle breathing. The other idea which I thought about while listening to this track was about 'death' itself which may also describe the way of sleep - permanent sleep. This truck is relaxing, trying to put you to sleep, it has a bit of sense of magic but on the same time I fell a bit fearful while listening to it.

Before starting looking for any ideas and inspirations I have researched about the collaborators because they are judging panel for the competition. It would be helpful to get to know something about them and about the style of work they like. First of them is Universal (Universal Music UK). Universal is the first collaborator and has been supporting 'Secret 7' since 2012. Universal is also the UK's leading music company with signed artist such as:  Take That, Florence and The Rolling Stones. The next collaborators are Sonos Studio and Monotype.
